The HP Secure Authentication Mobile functions similarly to an NFC Card. It utilizes both a QR code and a BLE button that, when pressed, generate a unique set of 16 digits. These digits are specific to the user's mobile phone and their Microsoft user name.
These randomly generated digits provide a set of unique values that help identify your account ID in our Keycloak Server. This information allows the printer to determine the owner of the IDs and which Microsoft account to log you into.
If you have a second mobile phone, it will generate two new IDs, resulting in a total of four unique IDs associated with your login user name. This is comparable to having four NFC cards registered under your name.
It's important to note that even if someone gains access to the HP Secure Authentication Mobile app on your phone, they would still need to unlock your Microsoft Authenticator Mobile app using a PIN, face recognition, biometrics, or voice command. Furthermore, they would need to enter the two-digit Microsoft number and once again use the PIN, face recognition, biometrics, or voice command to confirm the number.
